Built to survive
Protector cases are made from heavy-duty copolymer polypropylene using an open-cell core and solid-wall design, which is actually stronger and lighter than a solid core. A replaceable O-ring gives a watertight, dustproof seal, and an automatic purge valve lets you open the case easily after changes in temperature or pressure. Most Protector cases are guaranteed watertight to 1 metre for 30 minutes (IP67) when properly closed.
What sets Protector apart
The defining feature is the latch. Protector uses double-throw latches that create an incredibly strong seal, where Storm and Air cases use the easier Press & Pull system instead. In practice the Protector is the more heavy-duty and rugged choice; all three ranges are waterproof, dustproof, crushproof and built to mil-spec, so it largely comes down to your preference in latches and weight. If you want latches that will work hard for decades, this is the range.
Fit your gear exactly
Every Protector case except the 1700, 1720 and 1750 comes standard with Pick N Pluck foam, pre-scored so you can shape a snug pocket yourself. Padded divider sets and the TrekPak divider system are available on many models, and for a precise fit we cut custom foam inserts to your exact equipment in our Auckland workshop.
