Air case protection, at a fraction of the weight
Air cases are made from a proprietary blend of next-generation, super-light HPX2 resin, which lets them bend and rebound without breaking while staying every bit as waterproof, dustproof and crushproof as Pelican's more iconic cases. A watertight O-ring and automatic purge valve seal the case and balance pressure, and Air cases are IP67 and mil-spec certified, the same protection standard as the rest of the range.
Why Air cases are up to 40% lighter
The whole point of the Air range is weight. Compared with a similarly sized Protector case, an Air case is up to 40% lighter, thanks to that HPX2 resin and a refined wall design. It shares the same legendary DNA as the Protector, with one primary difference: a Press & Pull latch that locks automatically but opens with a light touch. For pros hauling kit through airports, up mountains, or out to remote sites, that saved weight adds up fast.
Foam & TrekPak options for Air cases
Air cases take the full range of interiors. Pick N Pluck foam is pre-scored so you can shape a snug pocket yourself, padded dividers reconfigure with Velcro, and the TrekPak system pairs with bottom and convoluted lid foam to form a 360-degree cocoon around your gear. For an exact fit, we cut custom foam inserts to your equipment in our Auckland workshop.
